OUR CHURCH HISTORY
LA HISTORIA DE NUESTRA IGLESIA
Faith Community Church’s early roots were with the Assembly of God Church. In the late 1980s, the church became an independent congregation and moved to the store front at 218 1st Ave SW in Quincy. After ten years, the church moved worship services to the Pioneer School Gymnasium, meeting there for eight years. It was during this time that construction began on our present worship facility at the corner of Birch Street and 10th Ave. Faith Community has been meeting there since Resurrection Sunday of 2009. Faith Community Church’s pastors and leaders are members of Ministers Fellowship International, encouragement and doctrinal accountability. Though we are not a part of a historic denomination, we are part of Christ’s historic Church and walk in fellowship with other churches in our city.
Las raíces tempranas de la Iglesia de la Comunidad de Fe (ICF) fueron con la Iglesia de la Asamblea de Dios. A fines de la década de 1980, la iglesia se convirtió en una congregación independiente y se mudó a la tienda en 218 1st Ave SW en Quincy. Después de diez años, la iglesia trasladó los servicios de adoración al Pioneer School Gymnasium, reuniéndose allí durante ocho años. VISION PARA EL FUTURO
God has been adding families to our church body. We believe that a local church should reflect the demographics of their community. Some of these families have members who primarily speak Spanish, but continue to come because they want their kids to acclimate to English-speaking culture. FCC has been given a mission’s mandate from the Lord. Amazingly, God has used our church body to touch lives all over the world. People from many Spanish-speaking countries call Quincy home, and we believe that God is calling FCC to intentionally reach out to the Spanish-speaking community of our city.
Dios ha estado agregando familias a nuestro cuerpo de iglesia. Creemos que una iglesia local debe reflejar la demografía de su comunidad. Algunas de estas familias tienen miembros que hablan principalmente español, pero continúan viniendo porque quieren que sus hijos se aclimaten a la cultura de habla inglesa. ICF ha recibido el mandato de una misión del Señor. Sorprendentemente, Dios ha usado el cuerpo de nuestra iglesia para tocar vidas en todo el mundo. La gente de muchos países de habla española viven in Quincy, y creemos que Dios está llamando a ICF para que intencionalmente se comunique con la comunidad de habla hispana de nuestra ciudad.
